WeHaveMasks is excited about our collaboration with The MassK Project out of LaunchSpace Inc. This project was created through LaunchSpace Inc. as a local volunteer-manufacturing collaborative, to donate 10,000 high-quality masks to healthcare facilities, essential employees, and first responders in Massachusetts. LaunchSpace Inc. has received a donation request from a Massachusetts healthcare alliance with over 25,000 providers and 1,200 staff that require masks for clinicians, staff, and clients. The MassKs are constructed with two layers of non-woven polypropylene (NWPP) fabric that resists droplet transmission of viruses. NWPP fabric is known to provide improved protection over woven cotton masks. LaunchSpace Inc. has masks kits and has reached out to WeHaveMasks to help get more MassKs sewn. The MassK Project is sourcing the NWPP fabric from unused convention and promotional bags and medical textile from corporations all over the U.S. and has received very generous donations from medical textile supply companies. The MassK Project is fueled 100 percent by volunteers committed to helping rural and underserved communities. With your generosity, we will be able to fulfill this large donation request and protect the most at-risk outpatient populations.
The MassK Kit
Each kit has supplies for 25 MassKs. You can request kits to make 100, 200, or 300 MassKs.
WeHaveMasks and LaunchSpace Inc. will cover the postage to get the kits to you and the completed MassKs back to the LaunchSpace Inc. office. From there, the MassKs will be distributed to the Massachusetts healthcare alliance.
All MassK kits have been assigned to sewists. Thank you for your support!
